After my last post I stopped my detox. I ended up being very light headed for a few days and started to incorporate other foods into my diet again. I have a strong sense of what my body is needing and I felt that I needed more in my diet.
What I LOVE about doing my detox is the mind set that I am in afterwords. It’s not about eliminating everything bad from your diet, unless you are seeking to be vegan, raw or similar. It’s about understanding your own health and what you body needs to survive. Eating clean goes well beyond consuming endless amounts of veggies. It’s about eating what Mother Earth put on this planet for us to consume. I read a lot of other food blogs (see blogroll) and they all have motivated me into gaining a better awareness. Thank you all! I hope you can learn from me as much as I have learned from you! xoxo
For breakfast I had a Green Monster drink:
- a cup of almond milk
- some ice
- a handful of strawberries, raspberries and blueberries
- a scoop of Amazing Meal, original
- a huge amount of spinach
- a big tablespoon of almond butter
- 2/3 of a very ripe red pear
For lunch I made a HUMUNGO salad, Mexican yellow melon and a mug of roasted red pepper tomato soup – my fave! I couldn’t finish everything, it was that big!
- a Romain heart
- a vine ripe tomato, cubed and seeded
- organic black beans, rinsed
- half of an avocado
- a big chunk of an English cucumber, cubed
- pico de gallo salsa
- a few black bean chips
Baby J and I had to run a few errands and pick up a few things at the grocery store – naners, more almond butter ( I go through so much of this stuff – I love it!), dark chocolate, agave nectar, lettuce, avocados and a few other items.
I did happen to see these little bars made by Clif. I one for a snack when we arrived back home. VERY tasty and only 3 ingredients!
Marc is in Canada right now on a guys vacation so it has been nice to eat when I want, what I want. I am slowly trying to help him make better choices but sometimes he gets the best (or worst) of me and I slip and eat something not so good, but delicious! 🙂 hehe
I had some Mary’s Gone Crackers with hummus before I put Baby J down for the night so I wasn’t too hungry. I made a 4 egg white egg scramble with tomato chunks, avocado, black beans and cilantro. Topped with hot sauce and wheat wrap… YUM!
It started out so pretty… BUT I don’t know how to make an omelet. So it turned out to be a type of scramble 🙂 The wrap tasted like freezer so I ended up not eating it – blech! I should have added onions to the mix, totally forgot! and of course a piece of dark chocolate for desert with my orange green-tea! 😉
