Back on track and feeling great!

Hey guys!

Today went very well – I already feel a lot better about my eating and feel that I am able to gain my control back. I can tell I needed this as I have been “craving” sugar. Yuck.

Afternoon snack was a kiwi. PS – I really enjoy eating kiwi with the skin on!

Along with a few handfuls of nuts.

And I have been drinking plenty of tea, too.

J has been sick with a cold and my throat and ears have been bothering me all day, especially tonight. Green tea, Echinacea and cold care to try to boost my immune system.

Dinner was a nice big salad.

I loaded it with spring mix, romaine, black beans, artichoke hearts, tomatoes, carrots, basil, red onion, red bell pepper, s & p and EVOO. I also had a rosemary cracker and some hummus.

I decided to skip the gym tonight. I hate feeling sick while trying to workout.

So I stayed home, read through my health magazines, tore out articles and wrote recipes. I love nothing more than the get great ideas on meals and nutrition.

I think I might be the only one who enjoys actual writing over typing! Anyone else feel this way?

  1. I do the same thing! I write my menus out in a notebook and then I end up typing them anyway, but I really enjoy writing my food ideas, it's so much fun. :)Jenn

I was craving sweets and someone told me to check on my protein intake – it totally helped when I kept the protein up. It is so much easier to write it down for me too – haven't done that in a while but I think about it in my head.:)

  3. I thought I was the only who ate Kiwi with the skin on since everyone always gave me strange looks when I do it 😉 But I do prefer typing over writing…it's the laziness in me 😉

  4. Missy says:

Sometimes I like writing too! Like I have a food journal on my ipod touch but it is sooo much easier to write it down!

  5. Janet says:

I type because my handwriting is illegible anymore….because of typing!! Glad you're feeling better, thanks for being an inspiration for clean eating. Love your blog!!

  6. Chelsea (Chelsea's Chew and Run Fun) says:

Kiwi with the skin on is delicious (also very fibrous.) I love your eating style, your meals always look vibrant, nourishing, and plentiful. Best of luck with the vegan for a month goal, seems like you're diet is 75% vegan anyhow…so I don't think it'll be that huge of a transition.

  7. Madeline - Greens and Jeans says:

In college I would almost always hand write my papers before typing them!

  8. Adrien says:

I need to get off sugar too- it's so hard- any advice you have I'm open to take! I prefer writing for school- typing is easier and faster for anything else- except memorization I guess!

  9. biz319 says:

It never even dawned on me to eat the skin of kiwi – now I will have to try that! I do love writing in a journal more than online – even though I keep a food journal online, I still write it down! 😀

  12. i still love writing, but typing is so much more convenient! there's nothing like getting a hand-written card in the mail though 🙂

  13. Danielle (Coffee Run) says:

I like to eat kiwi with the skin on too! Now I'm starting to eat everything with the skin on…I know what you mean about writing over typing. It just feels more personal?
