Weekend Roundup – Thanksgiving Style!

I am still not sure how much cooking I am planning on doing this year but I have been drooling over so many amazing recipes on the web this week! Vegan, vegetarian, paleo… there’s a little bit of everything!

Normally we do a traditional turkey or sometimes pork loin with homemade cranberry sauce, homemade stuffing, mashed taters and brussel sprouts. But I really do love seeing all the different variations of dishes! Beautiful and delish!

Holiday Recipe Countdown – Day 2 {Vegan Cinnamon Rolls}

I love waking up on Sunday, pouring a cup of coffee and pre-heating my oven. Usually, Jordan and I bake my banana bread muffins which is his number one requested recipe of mine. We have such a blast baking together – he is such a good helper in the kitchen!


Cinnamon rolls may seem a bit intimidating but they really are very easy. They just take a bit of time preparation. Believe me, your family will love you if they get woken up from the sweet smell of cinnamon. A perfect Sunday morning food!

Holiday Recipe Countdown – Day 1

I am counting down the month of December with some of my most favorite recipes that can be used during this Holiday season.

Today I am featuring Brussel Sprouts. I love these little tiny cabbages – ( that’s what I used to call them when I was a kid! ). I usually roast mine with a drizzle of olive oil and a pinch of sea salt and fresh ground pepper. Lately I have been loving them with dried fruits and nuts. Hello from Brussels!



When I was little I used to love brussel sprouts. I called them “little cabbages” and I popped one by one in my mouth. Then I went through a phase where the sight of them made me gag and run the other way. However, with time, I learned to love my “little cabbages” again. Roasted, sautéed and even raw. I love them… this time for good!

ToFurkey Day 1

I have never eaten Tofurkey. But it is definitely on my bucket list! Thumbs up


I don’t think there is ever enough inspiration when it comes to Holiday dishes and recipes. Whether you are feeding a small family or an entire houseful, food should be cooked with love and enjoyed by all. I receive many emails this time of year asking how to deal with families who do not eat clean or practice in veggie living. I always say the same thing: DON’T STRESS! Just enjoy yourself! And when in doubt, bring a dish or two that you love and be sure to share with others!

The Mighty Avocado

Avocados need more love. Sure they are a little heavy on the bottom… but I have never been one to pass judgment. Avocados are a staple in my kitchen. I usually buy a green avocado and stick him (or her) next to my bananas to ripen. By the time I finish the ripe one I have in the fridge, the new one is ready for me to use, eat and enjoy.

Avocados provide nearly 20 essential nutrients, including fiber, potassium, Vitamin E, B-vitamins and folic acid. They also act as a "nutrient booster" by enabling the body to absorb more fat-soluble nutrients, such as alpha and beta-carotene and lutein, in foods that are eaten with the fruit.

Avocado: I adore you. Plain and simple. Well, maybe with a pinch of salt and pepper.
