Oh, Hi!

Well HELLO there!!

28379776_10213582933001871_203970768647121319_n

It has certainly been a while, hasn’t it?! PS Jordan is now 9! Crazy, right?!

I wanted to quickly pop on to let all you (my readers, fans and subscribers) that I am going to start posting content again! FINALLY!! It certainly has been WAY TOO LONG and I soooo miss my little blog! :(

There have been many life changes, prioritizing and shifting over past few years. But for the past few months, my little blog has been calling me! I didn’t realize how much I have missed blogging until I started reading my old blog posts and revisiting my favorite blogs again.

I am genuinely excited to be connecting with you again! I am going to be posting journal-style posts (like day in the life posts), recipes, product reviews, workout/running updates, etc.. I really enjoy this kind of blogging style as it not only keeps me accountable but it‘s really fun to create!

And if you wouldn’t mind, please leave me a comment letting me know what you would like to see! Again, I am planning on using this as a personal journal type website but I still would love to get suggestions from you!

And to end this post on a “yummy” note, here was my lunch today from this amazing little bistro called Sage Coffee House & Bistro! I ordered The Melt bagel sandwich which had turkey, bacon, tomato, cucumber, spinach, Swiss cheese and brown mustard on an everything bagel. I paired it with a cup of split pea ham soup and a much needed soy milk latte. Heaven.
So if you are in Washington state driving on I-90 near Quincy, be sure to take a moment to stop and enjoy a coffee or tasty meal!

What is your number 1 tip for living a healthy life?

This is the number 1 question I receive when I start working with people: I need to start living a healthier life but I don’t know how or where to start!

This is a loaded question because living a healthier life isn’t always and shouldn’t be centered around your weight or what you eat. It should encompass everything you do – from self-love, your relationships, your habits, your career, your happiness, along with your health, diet and relationship with food. Your body, mind and soul all need to be synched together for optimal radiance!

Balance!

Happy Friday!

I was talking to a friend the other day and the topic of balance came up. If you are an adult, chances are you are struggling with balance in your life. :raises hand: I know I have been! balance

Whether you are a wife, a husband, a mother, a father, a full time student, working a full time job, balance is always a topic that is being discussed and evaluated.

What do you think of when you first hear the word “balance”? Maybe you are trying to find that happy balance to work full time while being with your family. Or maybe you are a stay at home parent looking to get back into your running or workout routine. Whatever you are finding unbalanced in your life, I have some tips that will help ease your mind and take some stress away from enjoying your beautiful life.

  • The first step is to write down who you are and what your mandatory responsibilities are. Wife, mother, your career, school work, caretaker to a family member. Write the things down that you MUST do every day.
  • The second step is to acknowledge where you might be lacking balance and neglecting the areas that are important in your life. Your health, fitness, alone time, meditation, journaling, etc.
  • The third step is make a map of your ideal life. I want you to be very specific. Maybe you want to incorporate more running in your schedule, or more time with your children. Make a schedule of your ideal self with NO hesitations.
  • The fourth step is to start setting goals. Examine your ideal day and start setting goals to achieve it. Maybe you find your commute to work is too long and is eating up a large chunk of your time that could be spent with your children or working out. Your goals might be to ask your company if you could telecommute from home, move closer to work or to possible look for a new career that allows you to have more time in your day.
  • The fifth step is to make a very detailed plan for your goals and work towards them every day/week/month. If you are married be sure to include your spouse in your plan and brainstorm ideas as you might have to make some changes as a family.

It is also very important to create a life that embraces who YOU are and what your own passions are. I am a very free spirited person that loves creating art and being in nature. For years I was putting myself in environments that drained my inner creativity. I spent years feeling very lost and out of balance. I am who I am and I started realizing that I need to be in a certain kind of environment to feel free and balanced.

balance

Balance needs to be practiced every single day. No one masters balance as balance is continually growing in life. Nurture balance, accept balance and find your inner peace.

Embrace the change of life and your vision!

Happy Day! Happy Moment! Happy Life!

Friends – I never meant to not blog for an entire month.

I embrace that I needed a break. I accept that I was in a mental funk. Feeling a bit stuck and uninspired. I took some time to dive into some deep personal development, rekindling the relationship with myself, my dreams and my goals.

And damn has it felt amazing!

change

I am not even sure how to fully express my thoughts or emotions right now… but all I can say is that when you experience shifts in your life they can be powerful and beautiful!

Life changing. Life saving.

We as humans are constantly evolving, learning, growing, loving… when your mind is fully open your heart is expanding with it! I was so set in my own ways for so long that I wouldn’t even know a good thing it if hit me.

Truth.

And here I was thinking that I had it all together! Nope.

The ebbs and flow in life is like the ocean. Waves of goodness are crashing all over you at any given moment. And if you are truly present in life you can fully experience them.

This is probably why I am so attracted to water, especially the ocean.

So I am here to say EMBRACE CHANGE! Understand that you are flowing through life, growing each day, learning and loving!

Enjoy the ride! ❤

Today I will make magic happen – Ways to keep yourself motivated!

Featured image

It doesn’t matter who you are, we ALL experience lack of motivation. When you first start a project, or an idea, or a new life change, you are EXTREMELY motivated and happy! You wake up feeling positive, gung-ho and ready to tackle whatever it is HEAD ON!

But… after a few days or weeks that lack-luster feeling starts to trickle in and you start to get in that vicious “I will do it later” mentality. That’s when later becomes a day, then a week, then a month and eventually you are back to square one again.

Don’t you think it would take less effort to actually just DO IT rather than start and stop again and again and again? Sure it would! But how? How can you stop the roller coaster?

Honestly, I have dealt with this my entire life. I am a master-procrastinator. I hate to admit it but it’s the truth. However I have developed some key habits to help me stay focused, motivated and to help me actually get shit done!

Click To Tweet

Hey 2015, it’s me, T-Dub (nickname, spirit animal, real name, blog name)

This year I would like to practice more self love – I want to fully honor my body from the inside out, from the top of my head down to my baby toe!

It would also be super duper awesome if I also did more running, more creating (art and sewing) and more yoga and deep breathing this year. It’s not a resolution, though, just a reminder to myself to try and have the best year yet because I deserve it!

The thing I am looking forward to most this year is starting to fully understand my wants and desires! Believing in my intuition and trusting my guide!

I’ll use the one thing that truly gets me out of bed in the morning which is coffee(!!!) to help me get up, get charged, (verb) and get after my #NoExcuses 2015. Speaking of excuses (ahem), my very favorite excuse is I will do it later and I have used it to get out of doing exercise and working on my business on more than 100 TRILLION (number) occasions. I vow to move my body and be more healthy this year even if it means I have to face my fear, leave my excuses behind and understand I am only hurting myself.

Even if my alarm clock gets eaten by the dog in the middle of the night, I’ll still get up and salute the day.

I will stop blaming my sweet tooth [ex: kids, dog, husband] for eating the rest of the ice cream when everyone knows it was really MEEEEE.

My fear [job, hair, car, husband, kids] is not the reason I make excuses. I will show my fear [same as before] who’s boss this year and get my blood flowing, intense and soul charging movement [type of sweaty activity] on.

I know that any kind of workout [type of workout] is better than telling myself I can do it later…. I deserve to feel better NOW! [noun]

I will reward myself by buying a new book, a new pair of running pants or a new box of incense.

#NoExcuses 2015 has just begun and already I am imagining myself a winner. I can’t wait to rock a Zeal Hoodie (article of clothing) from Augusta Active. I can’t wait till my sweaty friends are jealous of how fresh, clean and vibrant (adj) I am between workouts with help from ShowerPill body wipes. I can see myself rocking sun salutations [yoga pose / workout move] in new Rock the Course Leggings [article of clothing from Actio926] from Actio926 and looking fit and fly while doing it. And of course, I’ll be taking my workouts to the next level and improving my ass [noun] with my new ActivMotion Bar to help me train for my next  half marathon [distance] race with Sasquatch Racing.

Oh, and let’s not forget how amazing my sports bra [article of clothing] will smell in my / during my race [favorite type of workout] after washing with some WIN Detergent. And lastly, I’ll keep rocking my 2015 with clean eats and nutrition from Beaming with Health!

Tag, Tweet, shout-out, call, text, fax or email 3 friends to take this survey and share how they will have a #NoExcuses 2015. Remind your friends to simply fill in the BOLD parts!

Are your dreams TOO BIG? 4 ways to turn your DREAMS into a REALITY!

Hey friends!

Can you do me a favor? Look at your life and ask yourself if you are playing it safe. Are you stepping out of your comfort zone to allow your dreams to happen? Or are you sitting back thinking you are not worthy of achieving great things in your life.

If you are dreaming BIG then you are doing it right! I was asked the other day by a friend of mine “How are you able to dream so big? Whenever I dream big I fall back to the ground!”. I was taken back a bit, smiled and then asked her a simple question: “How do you know I haven’t fallen, too?”

Look, I know dreams are scary. They can be intimidating, confusing and will put you in a dizzy trying to figure out if you should peruse them or forget about them. But I also know what it feels like to have this strong powerful pull towards something in your life! This, my friends, is YOUR DREAM! No matter how big or small! No matter if people agree with it or disagree with it… you must start looking at your dreams and start believing in them!! They were put in your life for a reason!

dreams

Your dreams should scare you into stepping up and taking action in your life. If you are unhappy – CHANGE! If you want more – CHANGE! If you need a change – CHANGE!

Here are some simple steps that you can use to start turning your dreams into a reality!

1. Be specific! Goals must be specific – get rid of the vague language like “a little”, “some” or “more”. Put a number down and be exact! “ I want to lose 20 pounds”, “ I want to make $75,000”, “I would like to attend 4 business events”.

2. Make goals simple!  Clear and focused is the key here. Do not get to caught up in the story of your goal or what that goal may look like under a microscope. Let that happen once you reach your goal!

3. Goals must be tangible! Save the abstract for the art gallery. Your goal must be REAL – something you can see, touch or feel. If you see yourself being healthier or having financial stability, these goals may be nearly impossible to reach. But running a marathon is tangible. Losing 25 pounds is tangible. Seeing a specific number in your bank account is tangible.

4. Write them down! The act of writing your goals out increases the chance that these goals will be achieved! Write every. Single. Day. I swear, it works!

BONUS 5. Share them! Shout your goals out to the world! Let those around you keep you accountable! And when you reach your goal (because I know you will!) shout it out AGAIN!

So tell me, what are some of your goals that you feel are too big? Do you think with this action plan you would be able to achieve them?

You deserve every single dream that you have!!!

Making your life a priority!

Hi friends! Happy FRIDAY! I hope each one of you had a fantastic week and have some fun plans for the weekend! Maybe some pumpkin patch fun? Football? working out?
Tell me below what you will be doing this weekend! ❤

yoga peace

I have been doing a lot of thinking about a major excuse that I see so many people use, and I use, too!

I DONT HAVE TIME!

I recently read that in order for you to create a life that you love you must rephrase this thought. It is so simple yet so dramatic!

Instead of saying I don’t have the time – say, This is not a priority to me.

Woah.

Big difference, right?

Are you sitting there thinking – I hate my body, I need to get in shape, I need to get healthy but I just don’t have the time… you are telling yourself that your health is not a priority.

But it is! It really is!

CREATE THE TIME!

Don’t create the time for me… create it for YOU! No matter what you are saying you don’t have time for ask yourself if it’s a priority.

Ok let’s get down and dirty!

What are priorities? Priorities are the things that you want to accomplish in any given period of time. Think SHORT TERM GOALS. The more your goals represent your values, strengths and passions, the more likely you are to achieve them. The same thing goes for your priorities. A lot of people are stuck with to-do lists that have a lot of “shoulds” rather than their choices. Why not recreate your to-do list and have it reflect the things that represent your authentic choices?

1. Be aware of how you are currently spending your time

Write down all the things that you do. You need to start assessing your time! How much time do you spend in each area? Where you spend your time is where your priorities are currently at. Do you veg out playing Candy Crush on your phone? Skimming through facebook? Working on your business? Creating a healthier life? Whatever it is that you do you need to ask yourself if this is a priority and are these things aligning with my goals and purpose!

2. Assess how satisfied you are with the way you are spending your time

Think about the most important areas of your life (career/business, relationships, personal development, finances, health, traveling… etc). These areas are unique to you!

• Rate each area in terms of how important it is to you. Use a scale of 1-10 with 1 being “not important” and 10 being “vitally important.

• Now rate how well are you living each of these areas. How satisfied are you with the amount of time that you spend on this area? Rate this on a scale of 1-10.

GOLDEN NUGGET – Look back at those areas that you rated as very important (8, 9 or 10). If there is a gap of 2 or more points between how important an area is and your satisfaction rating, chances are that you are feeling a lack of balance because there is a gap between what is important to you and what you are actually doing.

3. Set new priorities to start doing more of the important things in your life!

What important activities are missing from your life and as you review each question, right down the activities that come to mind.

1. What is the most important thing in my life right now?

2. Where would I want to spend more time?

3. Where could I spend less time?

4. What areas need my attention now (e.g., school, talent, health, relationship)?

Write down your activities in the order that feels most important to you. This is your new list of priorities!

Remember that your priorities can change in any given period of time. If there is something important on your list that you do not have time for right now, think about when you can slot that in. It’s another way to take charge of time and feel in control.

I really hope this helps!! And more importantly I hope you start taking action NOW!!!
